I am a specialised equine bodyworker from the Hawkesbury, providing structured, anatomically informed manual therapy for performance horses. My work is grounded in formal education and qualifications, professional yard experience, and a long-standing commitment to equine biomechanics, soundness, function and longevity in the ridden horse.
I hold an undergraduate certificate in Human Health Science, a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Equine Management at the well- known UK agricultural college, Writtle College University, and I am a qualified practitioner in Equine Tissue Mobilisation. My academic background underpins the way I assess and treat each horse- with a clear understanding of anatomy, biomechanics and the demands placed on equine athletes.
I began my career on professional competition and hunting yards in the United Kingdom, where I developed a strong foundation in horse management, high-performance training environments and the standards required to maintain the horse at that level. After moving to Australia ten years ago as a working pupil, I continued to work within professional yards and performance settings with competition horses and racehorses, including two years as a trackwork rider on the Central Coast. Whilst living on the Central Coast I started freelancing - first as a competition groom and racehorse horse clipper, before starting bodywork at the beginning of 2024. These environments shaped my understanding of how horses respond to training, travel, competition and the cumulative effects of work over time.
In 2019 I acquired an off-the-track thoroughbred named Granite Belt. He retired from racing due to a hamstring tear, and his rehabilitation started a turning point in my career. Working closely alongside veterinarians and bodyworkers, I saw first-hand the impact that precise manual therapy could have on recovery, strength and long-term soundness. Granite went on to take me confidently around my first 110cm tracks, and at the end of 2023 we were training 120cm tracks at home, but he required consistent maintenance to perform his best. Managing his workload and bodywork requirements sparked my fascination with the mechanics of the equine body and the role bodywork plays in optimising performance. After a few years of studying the work of the professionals that treated him, I began to treat him myself firstly through self-taught practice, and in 2024 I qualified as an Equine Tissue Mobilisation Therapist.
Through Granite I was deeply compelled to understand the process of equine bodywork at a professional level. My approach to bodywork reflects that background. Sessions are methodical, purposeful and responsive to the individual horse. I support suppleness, functional movement and muscular balance, complementing correct training and veterinary care. I value clear communication with riders and trainers, and I structure ongoing programs for horses in consistent work requiring regular maintenance to perform their best.
I treat horses in the Hawkesbury and throughout the surrounding areas of Greater Sydney, and the Central Coast. I support professional, competitive and serious riders and owners who prioritise correct training, thoughtful management and the long-term wellbeing of their horses.
My goal with every horse I see is to provide them with thoughtful, effective treatment, leaving them better than I found them.
